Mr. Soffer’s journey in the legal profession began after graduating from New York University with a major in Politics in 1984. During his time at NYU, he honed his skills while working for a Trademark and Patent firm, protecting trademarks for prestigious clients such as Rolex, First Nationwide Savings Bank, and Joujou designs. This early experience laid the foundation for his commitment to diligently safeguarding his clients’ interests throughout his career.
Upon graduating from Tulane University Law School in 1987, Mr. Soffer was admitted to the New York State and Connecticut Bar Associations, marking the commencement of an illustrious legal career. His dedication to the practice of law has garnered him admission to the Southern District of New York and the Eastern District of New York Federal Court Bars, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit of New York, showcasing his wide-ranging expertise and jurisdictional knowledge.
Following his graduation, Mr. Soffer commenced his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney for the Nassau County District Attorney’s office in New York, where he spent three years prosecuting criminals. This invaluable experience provided him with a deep understanding of criminal law and the nuances of the judicial system.
Subsequently, Mr. Soffer transitioned into private practice, where he gained comprehensive experience in various legal domains, including personal injury, matrimonial, real estate, and criminal defense matters. In 1991, he founded his own firm, focusing on matrimonial and divorce cases, and has since become a distinguished figure in the legal community.
His dedication to the legal profession is further exemplified by his membership in several prestigious organizations, including the New York State Academy of Trial Lawyers, New York Criminal and Civil Bar Association, National Association of Divorce Practitioners, New York State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. These affiliations underscore Mr. Soffer’s commitment to excellence and continuous professional development.
