Florida Makes The Top 5 List Of States with Highest Foreclosure Rates

by | November 17, 2015

According to RealtyTrac’s latest U.S. Foreclosure Market Report, the foreclosure crisis is far from over, especially in Florida. The Sunshine State had the nation’s third-highest foreclosure rate in October 2015 when one in every 579 homes received a foreclosure filing — a 13 percent increase from the previous month.

Florida’s foreclosure rate has ranked in the top 5 each month in 2015. There is a glimmer of good news though. Despite the October spike, there are about 23 percent fewer Florida foreclosures than a year ago..

Florida also made the top 10 list of metro areas in the country with the highest foreclosure rates: Jacksonville at #6; Miami at #7 ; Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville at #9; and Tampa coming in at #10.
