What is joint physical custody?
Joint physical custody is a somewhat more complex custody arrangement. Whereas most custody battles are resolved in favor of one parent or the other, joint physical custody grants both parents an equitable share of the child's time. This usually means that the child will spend significant amounts of time with both parents. Because a separated couple can live in different cities or even states, a joint physical custody arrangement can lead to very difficult situations.
